Tolga Böyük is an Istanbul-born, Berlin-based musician, producer and composer, and the founder of Islandman — a project pushing the boundaries of Anatolian music through its fusion with hypnotic electronic rhythms.

Islandman has released four LPs on Music for Dreams (DK) and recorded Direct-to-Disc Sessions for Night Dreamer Records (UK) with legendary percussionist Okay Temiz. The project has performed at festivals including Montreux Jazz, London Jazz, Boom and Fusion.

He also hosted a documentary called Islandman: Searching for Sound, travelling and recording from Istanbul to Central Asia in search of the roots of Anatolian music.

Böyük has composed extensively for film and television, with scores featured on platforms including Netflix and HBO, and continues to work in film and advertising through FFW Creative Audio, the studio he co-founded. He is also co-music director of Air Anatolia and runs his own label, Rest In Space.
